Juanita Haugen Memorial Scholarship
JUANITA HAUGEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
IT’S ALL ABOUT!
COMPASSION - HONESTY - RESPONSIBILTY
RESPECT - INTEGRITY - SELF-DISCIPLINE
Community of Character Collaborative is a non-profit committee of volunteers representing a cross section of communities including the Pleasanton Unified School District, City of Pleasanton, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and other organizations working together to create a community culture built on values, goodwill and our community-accepted character traits. We continually strive to inspire and motivate a community culture that encourages, recognizes, and rewards good character!
The Community of Character Collaborative was inspired by long time Pleasanton resident, well-known school board member and lifelong advocate for character education Juanita Haugen. In her honor, we’ve established the annual Juanita Haugen Memorial Scholarship. Three high school seniors will be provided $1,000 scholarships each for being recognized as individuals who have a strong record of outstanding civic engagement and have demonstrated exceptional character by role modeling the Community of Character traits throughout their high school experience.
Please help us BUILD A COMMUNITY OF CHARACTER one student, individual, family and organization at a time!
To honor the memory of Juanita Haugen, trustee and president of the Pleasanton Unified School Board. Juanita had a passion for the children in the community. She was a leader in the district’s character education program and served as a trustee on school boards in Pleasanton for 28 years. She was the leading proponent for the establishment of Pleasanton’s “Community of Character Collaborative” (CCC).
The scholarship honors a student from the High Schools of the Pleasanton Unified School District who exemplifies the character traits of the Community of Character Collaborative through example and service.
